Welcome

Thank you for your interest in the Young Guns 390 Junior Sprints.  Our mission is to help young drivers "bridge the gap" from Quarter Midget Racing and Kart Racing into Micro Sprint Racing by giving them lots of seat time, car handling knowledge, good sportsmanship skills and safety knowledge.  We have formulated rules of competition similar to Micro Sprints, furthering the interest of these young drivers to get them ready for Micro Sprint Racing or other Open Wheel Racing.

  • What are the age restrictions?  Since this is a Junior Sprint series, the ages are from 10-15 years as of April 1, 2009.  You must have at least 3 years experience racing in quarter midgets, karts or other small car racing to compete in the Young Guns 390's.

  • What does a Junior Sprint Car consist of?  The Junior Sprints are run on any Wingless Micro Sprint Chassis with a Honda 390GX sealed engine.  So, when your driver is ready to move up to a Micro Sprint all you have to do is change the engine.  The Young Guns 390's have chosen to use only Hoosier Tires to run on.

  • Where do I get my engine and how much does it cost?  The engine builder is JSP, Inc. located in Sellersville, PA.  The cost of the engine package, spec exhaust and fuel pump is $3,000.  For more details and questions, you can contact Jeff at JSP Inc., 215-421-9570.   Note:  This engine will be sealed and strict penalties/suspensions do apply if any seals are broken, damaged, or open or any part of the engine is altered or tampered with.

  • What type of fuel are the Junior Sprints running on?  Methanol which must be purchased through the Young Guns 390 Club.

  • What's the cost of a Membership?  Memberships are for Car Owner and Driver ONLY.  The cost of the Membership is $200.00.

  • How many races are there in a season?  We have planned 6-8 per month with the racing season running from April - October.

  • Where will the Young Guns be racing?  Since this is a traveling dirt racing series, we wil be racing in the Eastern Pennsylvania and the Delaware regions.  Some of the track we will be racing at are Kutztown Speedway, Shippensburg Speedway, Greenwood Valley Action Track, Borgers Speedway, Selinsgrove Raceway Park and Airport Speedway.  We are looking into Linda's Speedway, Lanco Speedway and Hamlin Speedway for the 2009 Season.

We look forward to welcoming you to your first Young Guns 390 Junior Sprint event and we thank you for your interest and enthusiasm in the YG390's.
