Young Guns 390 Junior Sprints - Shippensburg Speedway 8/28

Hard Charging Spahr
The Young Guns 390 Junior Sprints returned to Shippensburg Speedway on Saturday Aug 28th. Temperatures were high and the on track action was just as intense. #15H Franklin Heinzmann would grab his first Shippensburg Speedway Heat win of the season. The YG390 cars would roll onto the speedway under the lights for the Feature event. #76 Logan Spahr, starting at the back of the field due to missing the Heat race with mechanical issues, would get a great start at the drop of the green and move up into the second position before the end of the first lap. Going into T1 on lap two #76 Logan Spahr would make a quick move under the #15H of Franklin Heinzmann to grab the lead. #76 Logan Spahr would set sail from that point on, stretching his lead as the laps ticked away. Meanwhile, #15H Franklin Heinzmann and #66 Zach Wells would race nose to tail over the second half of the race. Each lap would see #66 Zach Wells sticking his car low looking for an opening. As the checkered flew the win would go to #76 Logan Spahr with #15H Franklin Heinzmann holding off a hard charging #66 Zach Wells with #18 Jacob Moose gaining to finish a strong fourth.

#76 Logan Spahr and #15H Franklin Heinzmann would each earn one point towards the GoFast/BeSafe Hot Show Award 2010 points battle.
With only four races remaining for 2010 the battle for both the Young Guns 390 Junior Sprints Series and Shippensburg Speedway points are heating up.

The Young Guns 390 Junior Sprints will return to Shippensburg Speedway this Saturday Sept 4th.

Young Guns 390 Junior Sprints @ Williams Grove Kids Night 8/27 - Another Successful Night!

The Young Guns 390 Junior Sprints were once again very proud to be included as part of the Williams Grove Speedway Kids Night on Friday Aug 27th

The YG390’s brought four cars and young drivers out for the event and enjoyed a steady stream of the curious and interested families and young drivers who stopped by to see what the YG390’s have to offer. The Williams Grove Speedway staff made a special announcement alerting the large crowd to our presence in the infield before racing got underway. The highlight for the YG390 drivers was being brought out onto the track itself with their cars during intermission where the YG390 cars were used as the finish line for the big wheel and bicycle races. Adam Heinzmann, YG390 Vice President, was interviewed over the track PA and the YG390 cars looked great under the lights.

The Young Guns 390 Junior Sprints would like to thank Jen and Justin and all of the Williams Grove Speedway staff for inviting us and making us a part of Kids Night twice this season. The YG390 Series is still young and growing and these opportunities to get the word out about what we believe to be an important rung in the ladder of Open Wheel Sprint car racing is very much appreciated.

The Young Guns 390 Junior Sprints main goal is to become the premier transition series for young drivers coming out of quarter midgets, karts and other forms of motor sports whose dream and desire is to one day race the 358 and 410 Sprint cars.
